I feel truly refreshed today. Going back to work means going back to my normal daily routine which I love very much. Many a great students will be pleased to come back to university today. I took this very interesting picture that I would like to share here. It was taken at the meeting camp a few days ago. It is impressive how many good pictures we can take if we look at the small details around us.
So, carnival is over and tomorrow I will be back at work. What I experienced in the past three days was beyond I could have ever imagined. These three days I visited this religious camp on this particular farm were simply fantastic. The music, the band, the people I talked to, the food and the environment everything was perfect.
Last night I experienced something I had never experienced before and it was great. I saw people voluntarily expressing their emotions in a way that I felt really touched. Some groups formed circles prayed, cried with pure joy feeling truly thankful for all that. I did feel touched. It is not everyday we see fourteen, sixteen, thirteen year-old boys and girls so committed to their faith that way. In a world where drugs and violence are escalating very quickly I felt blessed to be among people of all ages committed to something so especial to them all, something that makes them feel good about themselves and about the others too.
Here are some nightshots I took last night.
Carnival is coming to an end which means I still have one more day off and than it is time to get back to work. Yesterday, we went to the farm once again just to spend some time with the nature and friends. It took us approximately one hour to get there. I took as many shots as I could. Here are some.....
From the car....
This is the time of the year where the streets are supposed to be empty leaving the city with this lifeless sensation. As we say here in Brazil, nothing works in the country until the carnival is over. I have to say this is true. People here love it. The carnival I am talking about the one that takes place where in live and it is not the same as the one found in Rio.
There are street parties where literally anything can happen. People drink and some times drink a lot. Videos of the most careless couples pop up and have unfortunately gone viral but then after the last street party called "Cafuçú". This is basically a street party where people have to dress in the most tacky way unleashing an array of interesting and funny ideas.
Despite all its funny things Carnival has never been my cup of tea.
