What a lovely day we have! The weather is really beautiful this morning. I am getting ready to leave to the park. My wife's travelled with her theatre company. They have been invited to perfume in a different state. Her sister has won a prize as best director so I am really proud of her. I spent the whole day in yesterday and I can't do,the same today. I need some fresh air and my cameras.

Sunday afternoon, after having spent the whole day out I felt exhausted. I needed my comfy bed. I had spent the morning in the park taking pictures with a friend and then, on our way back home my wife needed to buy a few things so we stooped at a free market nearby. The place was a nice mess. Crammed with people it was neither safer nor good for taking pictures. We were back home approximately one hour later.
Because my wife is an aerial silk teacher she was given two tickets for this contemporary dance performance that would take place on the Sunday evening. Despite the exhaustion, I charged my batteries and promptly said yes. It was a no-brainier decision.
I loved the whole performance. I truly did. The girls, who I have never seen before were very good for the entrained eye. My wife who understands contemporary dance much more than I do also said she loved it.
My only complain was this poorly-lit stage. Because the lighting was not ideal, far from it, I had to raise the ISO resulting in less-than-desirable noise levels. I had to keep ISO at 3,200 most of the time. If you see the first picture its as noisy as hell.
The dancers also interacted with the audience. An awkward moment took place when the blond girl tried, as part of the act, to rest her head on my lap and cry. She ended up laying on my wife's instead.
I loved the performance in general. They were very professional. I will keep an eye on these local contemporary dance performance from now on as they are well-worth watching and photographing.

It's been difficult to go out these days. Work has been quite demanding. Yesterday, however, I took some pictures I'd like to share.

I took these pictures on Monday. There is a rehearsal in a theatre near by so I decided to explore its surroundings.

Yesterday, I visited a city called Pedras de Fogo. My wife teaches at a private university there once a month so I knew beforehand it could be a great opportunity to take some nice pictures. The city is pretty plain, not many buildings or huge shopping centers there. I haven't seen one three or four-floor building when I was there so it gives you an idea of how small the city is. It's a pretty rural city.
I woke up at about 4:45am. My wife didn't sleep well. Probably she was a bit anxious about journey. The weather's been very strange here these days so it was really weird. It could rain at any minute.
It took us approximately one hour to get there. We passed by some interesting landscapes.
On arriving the city I came across some locals on a typical working day.
As I approached the local church I noticed some guys at the back of he church talking and looking at my direction. I had intended to go inside the church for some shots but at that point I simply gave it up. I went to one of the side doors of the church and this guy approached me with his cellphone. He was literally filming me! I just ignored him and decided to ask for some good places to photograph. By asking for some information I hoped to give him some messages. First and most importantly, yes I am not from here and no, I am not a threat. He soon said he didn't know but told me to go and ask the sheriff as he might have the answer. So, I went to the back of the church where these guys were and talked to the sheriff. He was very friendly and I immediately mentioned that my wife was teaching at the local university and then everything was fine.
It was on my way back when I suddenly saw an old school building. I thought it was a good idea to take some black and white shots. :)
.... To be continued...
